Legislative Priorities
1
HEALTHCARE
Every Iowan deserves access to quality mental health care. We must continue to train and hire more mental health providers and expand telehealth services for those struggling with mental health. Healthcare access, particularly in our smaller communities, has become dismal due to the lack of investment at the state level. It's time to change that for the future of our state.
2
EDUCATION
My public school teachers played a large role in my adolescent years and I will always be grateful for their support. Iowa has gone from 4th in the nation for education to 24th during the Republican reign over this state, and that has fallen on our students. Our kids deserve better and it is our responsibility to ensure a bright future for all Iowans. We need to advocate for our teachers, schools, and communities.
3
ECONOMIC EQUITY
Growing up in poverty and experiencing significant adversity myself, I know first hand how difficult it is to endure those conditions, let alone overcome them. For many, a bad childhood can equal a life sentence. I have been working to break generational cycles, and as a child, adult, and parent our social systems in Muscatine have had a huge impact on my story. I hope to do the same for future generations here in Muscatine.
